Embark on a transformative 8-day journey that combines dental missionary work with an exhilarating Kenyan safari experience. This unique adventure allows you to make a significant impact on the oral health of rural communities in Murang'a while also exploring Kenya's breathtaking wildlife and landscapes. Spend three days providing essential dental care to those with limited access, followed by an unforgettable four-day safari through some of Kenya's most iconic national parks, including Lake Nakuru and the world-famous Maasai Mara.
Your journey begins as you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. Our representatives will greet you with traditional Kenyan hospitality and transfer you to your city
hotel. After settling in, embark on a city orientation tour, exploring Nairobi's Central Business District. You'll view key landmarks such as the shopping areas, parliament buildings, Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), and the historic Railway station. In the evening, receive a briefing on your dental missionary tour. The rest of the day is at your leisure, with dinner on your own at the hotel. Overnight at Nairobi Safari Club or equivalent, on a bed and breakfast basis.
For the next three days, immerse yourself in rewarding dental missionary work in rural Murang'a. Each day, you'll travel to the dental camp to provide free dental services to those with limited access to care. Your activities will include dental check-ups, tooth extractions, teeth
cleaning, fillings, and referrals for specialized services. You'll also focus on oral hygiene education, providing advice and distributing toothbrushes and toothpaste. After each day's
work, return to your hotel in Nairobi for refreshment, dinner, and overnight stay.
After your inspiring work in Murang'a, it's time to experience Kenya's natural wonders. Begin your safari adventure with an early breakfast before driving to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its millions of pink flamingos. Check into Lake Nakuru Flamingo Lodge and relax before lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive around the "pink lake," searching for flamingos, black rhinos, giraffes, lions, and the elusive leopard. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to the renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve, offering spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. This region showcases animals in the same super-abundance as a century ago. Arrive at your lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive until sunset. Enjoy meals and overnight stay at AA Lodge or equivalent.
Rise early for breakfast, then set out on a full day of game viewing. Visit the Mara River to observe hippos and other wildlife. For the adventurous, there's an optional early morning hot air balloon ride with a champagne-style breakfast (additional cost). Spend the whole day in the Maasai Mara with both morning and afternoon game drives, maximizing your wildlife viewing opportunities. Return to AA Lodge or equivalent for meals and overnight stay.
After breakfast, bid farewell to the Maasai Mara and drive back to Nairobi. Your final meal in Kenya will be a lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant, known as 'Meat Eaters Paradise' and celebrated as Africa's Greatest Eating Experience. After lunch, transfer to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta Airport for your onward journey. Our staff will assist you with check-in and reconfirm your onward flight, marking the end of your transformative dental missionary tour and safari adventure.
In Nairobi, you'll stay at a comfortable city hotel. Safari accommodations include authentic lodges with essential amenities and stunning wilderness views.
At Lake Nakuru, expect flamingos, rhinos, and diverse bird species. The Maasai Mara offers opportunities to spot the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino), along with cheetahs, zebras, and giraffes.
Many guests consider it a trip highlight, offering unique wildlife and landscape views. It's an additional cost and weather-dependent.
While available year-round, optimal wildlife viewing is during dry seasons (June- October and January-February). Consider your dental practice schedule when selecting dates.
