Your adventure truly begins as you depart Nairobi after breakfast, heading towards Amboseli National Park. The drive offers stunning views of the Kenyan countryside. Upon arrival at your lodge, enjoy a delicious lunch before embarking on your first game drive. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds and unparalleled views of Mount Kilimanjaro. As the afternoon light paints the landscape golden, watch elephants against the backdrop of Africa's highest peak. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, filled with anticipation for the day ahead.
Rise early for a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. Witness the park come to life as the sun rises over Kilimanjaro. Look out for lions lounging after their night hunts, giraffes browsing acacia trees, and hippos returning to water after grazing. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive, exploring different areas of the park. Visit the Observation Hill for a panoramic view of the entire park and possibly spot buffalo, zebras, and wildebeest. As the day ends, enjoy a sundowner at a scenic spot before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, begin your journey to the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. The drive takes you through the dramatic Great Rift Valley, offering spectacular views. Arrive at your Masai Mara lodge in time for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, set out for your first game drive in this wildlife paradise. The Mara's expansive savannah is home to an incredible variety of animals. Keep your eyes peeled for your first sightings of the wildebeest herds. As the sun sets, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, excited for the days of migration watching ahead.
Today is dedicated to witnessing the incredible wildebeest migration. Start with an early morning game drive to catch the animals at their most active. Head to the Mara River, where you might be lucky enough to witness a dramatic river crossing. Watch as thousands of wildebeest and zebras brave the crocodile-infested waters in their instinctive journey. After a picnic lunch in the bush, continue your afternoon game drive. Look out for predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards that follow the migrating herds. Return to the lodge for dinner, sharing exciting stories of the day's sightings.
On your final full day in the Mara, take an early morning game drive to areas you haven't yet explored. Visit different habitats within the reserve, from acacia woodlands to the open plains. This is your chance to spot any of the Big Five you might have missed. In the afternoon, you have the option to visit a traditional Maasai village (at an extra cost) to learn about their fascinating culture. Alternatively, take another game drive to maximize your wildlife viewing. As the sun sets on your Masai Mara adventure, enjoy a special farewell dinner at the lodge
The migration is typically visible in the Masai Mara from July to October, with river crossings most likely in August and September.
Besides wildebeest, you'll likely see zebras, gazelles, and predators like lions, cheetahs, and crocodiles.
While we aim to maximize your chances, nature is unpredictable. River crossings can't be guaranteed but are highly likely during peak migration season.
