Can I bring donations for the children's home?

Absolutely! We encourage bringing donations, but please consult with us first about the most needed items to ensure they're appropriate and useful.

Is it possible to stay in touch with the children's home after the trip?

Yes, we can facilitate ongoing communication if desired, respecting the home's policies and the children's privacy.

What type of accommodation can I expect during the safari portion?

You'll stay in comfortable lodges with essential amenities. In Nairobi, you'll be at a city hotel, while on safari, you'll experience authentic safari lodges with stunning views of the surrounding wilderness.

What wildlife am I likely to see during the safari?

In Lake Nakuru, expect to see flamingos, rhinos, and various bird species. The Maasai Mara offers opportunities to spot the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino) along with cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and numerous antelope species.

Is the hot air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara worth it?

Many guests find this a highlight of their trip, offering unparalleled views of the landscape and wildlife. However, it's an additional cost and weather-dependent.

What's the best time of year for this trip?

While the trip is available year-round, the best wildlife viewing is typically during the dry seasons (June to October and January to February). The famous wildebeest migration occurs in the Maasai Mara from July to October.

How physically demanding is this trip?

The missionary work can be moderately active, depending on the activities you choose. The safari portion involves sitting in vehicles for game drives, with optional short walks. Overall, it's suitable for most fitness levels.

What's the recommended budget for extras and souvenirs?

Budget around $300-500 for souvenirs, optional activities, and tips. Remember to factor in any personal expenses and the cost of the balloon ride if interested.

Is it safe to drink the water?

We recommend drinking bottled water, which will be provided during your safari. In Nairobi, stick to bottled or boiled water.

What type of clothing should I pack?

Pack lightweight, breathable clothing in neutral colors for the safari. For the missionary work, bring modest, comfortable clothing suitable for working with children. Don't forget a warm layer for cool mornings and evenings.

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?
