Embark on an exhilarating 4-day safari adventure that takes you from the coastal city of Mombasa through three of Kenya’s most iconic national parks: Tsavo East, Tsavo West, and Amboseli. This carefully crafted itinerary offers a comprehensive exploration of Kenya’s diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife. From the vast savannas of Tsavo East to the volcanic landscapes of Tsavo West, and finally to the elephant-rich plains of Amboseli with the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop, this safari promises an unforgettable journey through the heart of East Africa’s wilderness.
Your safari adventure begins with an early breakfast in Mombasa before embarking on a scenic drive to Tsavo East National Park. As you approach the park, you'll enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge, arriving just in time for lunch. The afternoon brings another exciting game drive through the magnificent savannah, where you'll have the opportunity to spot the park's famous "red elephants," so named due to the distinctive red soil that often covers their skin. You'll also marvel at the Yatta Plateau, the world's longest lava flow, and visit other notable landmarks such as Lugard Falls, Aruba Dam, and Mudanda Rock. As the sun sets, return to your lodge for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
After an early breakfast, bid farewell to Tsavo East and journey to Tsavo West National Park. The drive itself is an adventure, offering glimpses of wildlife and changing landscapes. Upon arrival at your lodge, you'll enjoy lunch before setting out on an afternoon game drive. A highlight of your visit to Tsavo West will be a stop at Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear water flows from underground streams fed by Mount Kilimanjaro. Here, you might spot hippos and crocodiles in the transparent waters. As evening approaches, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight, reflecting on the day's incredible sights.
Your day begins with an early breakfast before departing for Amboseli National Park, situated on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. En route, you'll visit the intriguing Shetani Lava Flow, a vast expanse of folded black lava. Arriving at your lodge in time for lunch, you'll then set out for an afternoon game drive in Amboseli. This park is renowned for its large elephant herds and unparalleled views of Mount Kilimanjaro, offering spectacular photo opportunities. The swamp areas attract a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, and buffalo. As the day winds down, you'll return to Amboseli Sopa Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay, with the silhouette of Kilimanjaro as your backdrop.
On your final morning, rise early for one last game drive in Amboseli, taking in the park's beauty as it awakens with Mount Kilimanjaro revealing itself in the early light. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast before bidding "Kwaheri" (goodbye) to Amboseli. Your journey then takes you to Nairobi, Kenya's bustling capital. Upon arrival, you'll have lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant, known for its unique dining experience and variety of exotic meats. After lunch, you'll be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or the airport, marking the end of your unforgettable safari adventure.
The best time for this safari is during the dry seasons: June to October and January to February. These periods offer the best wildlife viewing opportunities as animals gather around water sources.
