Introduction to Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo valley is one of Uganda’s most spectacular parks. This national park is 1,442 square kilometers. Kidepo harbors scenery that can not be found in any other parks in east Africa. Kidepo is tucked into the corner of Uganda’s boarder with Sudan and Kenya.

Location of Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo is located in the north eastern part of Uganda in the Karamoja region. It’s far better to go by air to this distanced national park in Uganda.
 
Attractions in Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo is largely dominated by the Savannah vegetation with over 86 mammal species including the elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, bush pig and predators including the black backed jackal, African hunting god, fox, cheetah, lions, leopards and so much more. 17 antelope species have been recorded. The bird checklist is of 463 species recorded, including 56 raptors, like pygmy falcon, tawny eagle, secretary bird, vultures.
 
Activities in Kidepo Valley National Park
 A number of game drive loops direct visitors to wildlife viewing locations in the Narus valley in the South West of the Park.
 
Accommodation in Kidepo Valley National Park
Apoka Hostel: The Apoka hostel is essentially the only budget option for visitors to Kidepo other than camping for those with their own equipment. The hostel provides merely a place to sleep and nothing else. You will need to provide your own food stuffs and cooking equipment should you need to stay here. Apoka Lodge: A franchise to manage and operate Apoka Lodge was won by The Green Wilderness Group who own the Semliki Game Lodge in The Semliki Game Reserve. The newly refurbish lodge opened early 2006 with major infrastructure changes and higher pricing.
